Just Because

Well, here is the second creation from tonight...gosh I really need to get my pictures under control!!! Some are huge and others are not...please bear with me as I begin my blogging journey...it is very obvious I am green! Speaking of green, that is the color I chose to stamp my image with! This card front was embossed with a QuicKutz embossing folder called Framed. I then stamped my image twice...once with Memento Bamboo Leaves and once with Memento New Sprout ink...I really like the contrast. The stamp was from the Inkadinkado set called Garden Delight. Once everything was dry, I used my Versamark watermark pen and just outlined some of the image as well as some of the embossing and applied Ranger Holographic embossing powder. Very simple card...I don't do an awful lot of stamping yet...I am not real comfortable with coloring the images yet. Something for me to work on. Well, that's it for tonight, I hope you enjoyed my creations. Thanks for looking.

Hugs,

Vicki

Happy Birthday

Happy Wednesday! Today was a rainy stormy day again after work so I used the weather as an excuse to create a new card...well actually I created two! This first card is for my oldest son whose birthday is next week...shhhhh...I don't think he even knows I have a blog yet so I don't think he will see it. I have a hard time designing masculine cards but this one didn't turn out too bad. Unlike the last couple of cards, there is no cricut used on this card, but I did use my other favorite bug...the Cuttlebug. I just love embossing. I brayered the embossing folder with SU Chocolate Chip ink and ran the paper through my bug...I really love how it turned out. I then created a couple of layers to mat my card front using Coredinations card stock. The sentiment was stamped with a stamp from Joann Fabrics. I used my Spellbinders Double Ended Tag Shapeabilities to create a neat tag and added a couple of brown brads. Hope you had a wonderful day...come back to see me soon.
Hugs,
Vicki

Friends 5x7

For today's card, I again designed something in Design Studio using an aperture from Beyond Birthdays. I really like that cartridge. I welded a design from Storybook into the aperture window 4 times and manipulated it till I had a design I was happy with. The paper is from a huge stack of patterned paper given to me by my daughter in law. Under the patterned paper I scored the card front 3 times with the Scor Pal. The heat embossed stamp on the bottom of the card was from My Big Ideas Sassy Icon collection that I had purchased at Michaels. Hope you had a wonderful day...happy crafting.

My First Cricut Card Design

Hello all...hope you had a wonderful weekend. We had quite a bit of rain here today so I had a good reason to stay inside and play! Tonight, I tried my hand at creating my own design in Design Studio. A week or so ago, I took the Basic Cards class offered by Diane and Jen at http://letmeshowyouhowtodothat.blogspot.com/. If you have not checked out their web site, do so...they are have several classes to choose from and give you a wealth of information. Those girls ROCK! For my card, I used one of the aperture cards from the Beyond Birthdays cartridge and welded a couple of images from the Storybook cartridge in the window. Once the card base was cut, I used the Martha Stewart Lace punch to fancy up the front a little and then embossed the card front with the Cuttlebug hearts folder. The paper used on my card was from Stampin Up as well as the ink for the sentiment. The Hello stamp was from the dollar bin at Michael's...got to love those dollar stamps! Well, that's it for now. Take care.
