FSS Emma the Skating Elf

Hello to all! I had a pretty productive weekend...both in the yard AND in my room! I had a blast playing with this new image of Tracey's. I used Fred She Said's Emma the Skating Elf  pre-colored image. Isn't she just so cute? This was a really fun image to play with...the possibilities are endless with it! After printing the image, I cut it out with Nestability circle, matted with a slightly larger nestie circle and added some glitter around it to make it festive. I don't know if you can see it, but there is also some clear glitter in Emma's coat and hat. I used the Score Pal to score the white paper in behind the image and an EK Success punch for my border. The gold paper I used was from my stash and the gold flat back gems are from Pizzazz Aplenty! If you have not been out to see Pizzazz Aplenty lately, you really need to....wow what a new assortment of beads and stick pin accessories and charms she has! Guarantee you won't be disappointed! Well, it is late and I am ready to call it a day. Thanks to all of my awesome supporters who have been leaving love...it is very much appreciated. Hope to be back little later in the week or maybe even tomorrow, who knows! Take care!

FSS Teacup Pansies

Good morning! Hope you are off to a good start of your day today! I have a quick post today...just wanted to drop in and share with you a card that I created using the FSS Blue Pansies colored set. I cut the image out using Labels 18 nestie and added some glitter around the edges and to the cup. It is pop dotted on top of a blue piece of cardstock embossed with the Cuttlebug Musical Flourish folder...geez I really like that folder! Underneath that blue card stock the card is framed out with some gingham blue ribbon from Pizzazz Aplenty...I just thought it made a nice frame under the blue cardstock instead of it sitting right on the card base. Also you will see that I used some blue pearls...also from Pizzazz Aplenty...to embellish the card. The punch I used on the edge of my card I think was called Tulips...EK Success. Lot of fussing with this card but I do like how it turned out.
OH GOSH! Wanted to share with you in case you didn't already know...Judy at Pizzazz Aplenty is running her biannual sale on her rhinestones and flatback pearls...BUY ONE GET ONE FREE!
Well gotta run...I wish you all a great day today in whatever you are doing! Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love!

FSS Petunias

If you are looking for the FSS Blog Hop post please go here.

Hello, hope your Sunday has been a great one. We here in central Illinois have been blessed with another 2 inches of rain this weekend to top off the 8 we received during the week. Needless to say I have had plenty of time to create cards as I can't be outside! There is always a silver lining if we look for it! :) So I have been on a roll here creating cards with Tracey's flowers...you will be seeing them throughout the week and I think I will extend the idea into some bird cards a little later on.
For this card, I used the peach petunias from the Wee Hummingbirds and Petunias colored set. Although you may not be able to see this in the picture, I printed them twice and pop dotted the second layer for dimension. On the base layer I embossed with the Sizzix Scallop and Loop Ribbon embossing folder. The next layer was created using the EK Success Doily border punch...now this is not a punch around the page punch...I followed the same technique that I had done in an earlier card...the technique is here. It does take some time to get this accomplished but it sure does give a new meaning to those punches rather than just using them for border punching. The next layer I had outlined with Scor-Tape and then added some glitter to the  layer. I am really pleased with how this card turned out. Hope you enjoyed my creation. Have a great day today! Thanks tons for stopping in!

Time for Squigglefly!

Well I did get to play a little last night...and I was wanting a sentiment...so I went to my Squigglefly stash and found the perfect one for the card I created! The sentiment is one created by Jess Holland. I love her sentiments. Well, this creation is a little out of the ordinary for me...LOTS going on! I am usually pretty clean and simple but this card was just a little "not me". The label I used to mat the sentiment is from a set called Marquee Labels by Clear Dollar Stamps. I cut the oval center out on my cricut. The swirls in the corners are Sticko stickers from EK Success. Now those fancy adornments on the top and bottom of the label is actually one of the new Fancy Tags Three Nestabilities cut in half. Might be a bit much. I thought I would add a few flowers to the side of the label..they were cut with punches and layered...with a black flat pearl from Pizzazz Aplenty in the center of each. I added a little Diamond Stickles to the label to set it off a bit...Ohhhh and the white layer is embossed with an SU folder. So....what you think? Little toooooo busy? The more I looked at it the more I liked it...but the jury is still out! Thanks for taking a peek...I would love to know your thoughts...Hope you have a great day planned...I hope we get out of our rain pattern here...or I am going to have to call in the ark! Have a blessed day and I will be by to see each of you later!

Squigglefly Autumn Blessings!

Hello again! Today I have a Squigglefly Challenge card to show you. The challenge for the DT was to use any SF image and use the colors of the season. I chose to use 2 Squigglefly images to create my card...I am excited about how it turned out. I used Laura Campbell's Swirley Pumpkin image as well as Laura's Floral Window. I colored the leaves in Photoshop and matted the printed image on cardstock I had in my stash. I punched the border on the card with an EK Sucess punch and added some green bling in the center of each of the flowers on the border. Hope you like my creation...I had fun finally getting back into creating again! Be sure to stop the Squigglefly Challenge blog to see what the other DT members created for this challenge...AND to join in the fun!
Thanks for stopping by today...and you know I will be by to see you a little later in the day!

Mother's Day Card

Hello! I know it has been a few days since I have posted...I have been very busy outside the last few days and have also been contemplating my card designing techniques. I have not really been using my cricut at all lately...It is a very expensive machine to just be sitting collecting dust! Then I happened on a web site that totally got my creative juices flowing...Penny Duncan Creations. Penny is a very, very giving and kind person. I struggled with the folding of this cut and she very quickly answered my call for help! If you have a die cutting machine and can cut SVG files, please go pay Penny a visit...her files are awesome and FREE. What a gift Penny has! On my card, I actually used 2 of Penny's files...the cutting line file with all the folds and also the swirly border on the top and bottom of the card. I used one of my EK Success punches to create small scalloped edge on the border and then also matted that green border with a white border that had also been edged with that same punch. I added some pearls around the design and the sentiment in the middle of the card is one of my new sentiment creations that will be in the Stamping Boutique store soon...yes, I have been creating a few new sentiments. Hopefully tomorrow I will post a preview of the new ones in the store. Well, I hope you enjoyed my creation today....AND because I really do not have anyone to give this card to as my Mother passed away a few years ago, I will send this card to the first person that sends me an email requesting it! So if you could use this card, please let me know...I will send an envie with it! Thanks for stopping in to see me and I hope you have a blessed day today. I promise to get back into the swing of things and be by to visit you today!

Have a Toadally Awesome Day

Hello ladies! I know I have not been around much lately...just really having a tough time...yesterday was the first time I have even attempted creating since the loss of Riley...I am going to get back slow but sure. I miss visiting all of you and will be by to see most of you this weekend I hope. I want to thank each of you for your thoughts, prayers and comments over the past couple of weeks. My friend is back home now and is recovering well from her surgery only to find that she needs another biopsy for a new spot that has popped up...I am totally devasted for her...but she has a good positive outlook and I know she will face this head on with all the grace and courage she can. Please keep her in your prayers.
Today's card was created using one of Glitterbabe's images...please stop by and visit her etsy shop to see all she has been creating! Speaking of Glitterbabe, I was lucky enough to be able to spend a day with her on Thursday...hubby went with and him and Clyde yakked their heads off. Stef and I went through tons of paper that she had to share...and she sent me home with a mountain of goodies! I really needed the paper...and I used it on today's card...all the paper in this card creation were scraps from Stef! Thanks to my dear friend. The ribbon used on my card was some I had picked up from Big Lots and really could not find a use for it till now...the sentiment was computer generated...the punched borders are from an EK Success punch and of cours I used my Nestabilities around the sentiment. Not sure if you can really tell from the photo but I sprayed the whole card with Tsukineko Sheer Shimmer Sparkle spray...it really dressed up the appearance of the card. Oh....and I colored my image using Copics.
I will try to be back here more often now...I also want to start getting back to my sentiment creations...I miss doing that and really need to get some new ones in the Stamping Boutique Store! I hope you all have a great day and thanks so much for your support and love!
