Ramblings!

Hello, and thanks for stopping by! I don't have a card for tonight, hope to have one for tomorrow night though. I am actually on a two week vacation with my husband. We are on our way to see his family in Texas that he has not seen for 21 years! We will stay in Southern Texas for a week and then we are going to the Gulf of Mexico for about 4 days prior to heading back home. I am so darn excited about seeing the Gulf. Tonight we are staying in a Comfort Inn in Hayti, Mo and will drive as far as Tyler, Texas tomorrow. I love seeing the countryside and don't mind driving at all. I will miss all my grandchildren...not seeing them for 2 weeks is going to really be hard for us...but, I have brought lots of pics of them with us...Thanks tons for supporting me and stopping by! Season's Greetings!

Good morning! Well today's card took me way out of my comfort zone. I have been contemplating jumping into digital stamps, but because I felt my coloring/shading left a lot to be desired, I had not taken the plunge. Also, I wanted to try Copics for my coloring but wow are those puppies costly! So here's the scoop....I went to Squigglefly and purchased a 99 cent digi stamp to try...then went to Hobby Lobby and purchased only 4 copics. Now there was no rhyme or reason to my choice of colors only that I had a wreath to color...so....hmmm...logic told me to get a couple shades of green and a couple shades of red. The card above is my second attempt at coloring the wreath. My new dear friend Stef was kind enough to take a look at my attempt to color with the copics and she so kindly encouraged me to keep working at it. If you haven't been to Stef's blog, I encourage you to do so...she cracks me up...and she has some wonderful designs! Well, once the stamp was colored, I decided to add a little glitter. I used my new GellyRoll Stardust glitter pens to add the sparkle. Then, I so gently cut it out and matted it on a card base. The Season's Greeting sentiment is from a SU stamp set. Thinking of You

Hello! Sorry for the brief absence. We had a lot going on this weekend. Got to spend time with my grandchildren and celebrated my oldest son's birthday. Also, with the help of our neighbor, we got one side of our new fence put in. Our backyard is enclosed with this old rusty wire fence and we are just now getting to redo that fence. We are installing white vinyl picket and it is so darn nice. We will try to finish it next spring...but at least we got it started.

Today's card is a simple one...and was created with the same cuttlebug folder that I had used on my son's birthday card posted last week. The card base was SU paper. I have taken the advice of SusieB (Sue Nelson) from http://www.heartprints.net/ and purchased the Beckett Expression 80 lb paper in the colors of Radiance or Iceberg for my cuttlebug embossing. I was able to purchase the paper from http://www.marcopaper.com/. The results are stunning. Be sure to visit SusieB if you want to be inspired...she is awesome. Good morning! Another rainy gloomy day here! My husband and I are going on a two week vaction to Texas in a week...and it will be so nice cause the weather there is like SUMMER! We really have not had good summer weather here this year. Ok...enough complaining about the weather! Today's card is a lot of Stampin Up. I actually made the background paper with a set of Stampin Up stamps...I like how it turned out. The butterfly is also from that SU stamp set (I believe)...once I colored it and glittered it up, I cut it out and attached it to the card with pop dots. I used my Spellbinders Shapabilities to create the tag and the sentiment was SU as well. The card base was SU card stock...I really like their card stock. I think the ribbon used on the sentiment tag was just some that I had picked up at Hobby Lobby for another project. Take care and have a good day! Thanks tons for stopping!

Hello! Happy day...another rainy day here in the Illinois Valley! I heard the thunder rolling this morning about 3 AM. Today's card is another simple card...embossed of course! I just love the look and feel of an embossed card...hmmm....does that sound like an addiction! :) Anyway, I went to Scrapadoodle with my daughter in law a few weeks ago and found this Sizzix folder called Thanks. Oh wow, what an emboss you get with this folder, and YES...they can be used in the Cuttlebug. I made no special sandwich to use the folder...isn't it gorgeous? The circle was a 2 inch punch that I embossed with another smaller folder that came in the same set. I took the circle punch and punched out a piece of the top and bottom of the original circle to give it some character and then inked it with SU Old Olive ink. The paper on the back of the circle is from SU as well as the ribbon. Stampin UP makes some wonderful paper. Well, off to work I go. One more card for today...This one is maybe too simple but it was so easy. I used the Cuttlebug With Love embossing folder and 2 of the folders from the set to create the card front. Cut some corners out of the silver foil paper. The little embellies in the flower centers were from Hobby Lobby. Thanks tons for looking...hope your day was a good one.

Winter Wonderland

Hello All! Hope your weekend was a great one! Today's card is a Christmas card. It's not too early to start thinking about those cards...I made a promise to myself last year that I would not be scrambling at the last minute to do Christmas cards...so guess I better get on the stick. I have been getting a lot of good ideas from the following web site: http://cricutchristmas.blogspot.com/. Take a walk through their site if you already haven't. Quite a talented group of girls with some wonderful ideas. The base for the card above was Bazzill paper. The stamped image was a SU up stamp heat embossed with silver embossing powder. On the fold of the card, I glued a strip of paper embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflakes folder and embellished with some siilver embellies from Hobby Lobby. The Winter Wonderland stamp came from a set of stamps purchased at Joanne Fabrics. Hope you enjoyed today's card and come back to see me regularly!
