Season's Greetings

I am sorry for being gone for a day or so....life is catching up with me! I really did not have any time to craft since last weekend...so today, I got busy again! I had an order for about 5 Christmas cards that I needed to fill so you may see a few more Christmas cards from me this week, but after that, I think I am moving on! I have really just about had my fill of Christmas cards for now. Today's card is another gatefold design...embossed with Sizzix Snowflakes folder. The beautiful tree in the center and the sentiment is from the SU Snow Swirled stamp set. I stamped it with VersaMark and then heat embossed it with some silver embossing powder. I used the Classic and Scalloped Oval Nesties around the image. I took my Sakura Stardust clear glitter pen and added a little bling to each of the embossed snowflakes. I think this card turned out rather elegant. Well I sure hope your weekend has been a great one...getting all that shopping done as well as all the decorating? We are getting close! You Make My Heat Sing

Good morning! Today's card was created for Stef's challenge over at Squigglefly...wow you should see some of the cards created by this talented group of ladies! Why don't you grab a Squigglefly image and come play along? There are some freebie images to play with as well as a Nab it image everyday for a very very low price. And if you haven't seen the Shy Bears...oh you don't know what you are missing! LOL...I haven't tried one yet cause I am not sure of my coloring but I am going to tackle one soon! I chose an easy image to work with called Heart Sings. The color challenge was to use blue, brown and yellow...I colored my image with Copics and then matted it on brown and yellow paper cut with the Nestabilities Long Classic and Scalloped Rectangles. The ribbon is from SU and the pearls I colored with my Copics. Oh and the card base is DE-bossed with the Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirl embossing folder. A card with no name!

Happy Thursday...I hope your day was a good one. The weather here is getting frightful! Oh my gosh they are calling for SNOW showers Monday and Tuesday next week. It it just way to early for snow, we haven't had fall yet! Speaking of fall, today's card is rather "fallish". Once I got it created, I had no room for a sentiment...The card base is SU paper embossed with the Cuttlebug Textiles Texture folder. The image is a freebie image from Fred She Said. I colored this image with my SU markers and then used my Versamarker pen on the image so I could use a clear embossing powder on it. I do like how it turned out...kind of "fallish" don't ya think? Fall Blessings

Welcome to the first day of Fall! I really wanted to create a fall type card today...not sure I really accomplished my mission but this is what I created. The paper is from K&Company Tim Coffey Fall Paper Pack. This is an awesome pack of paper. The bottom edge of the card was scalloped with one of my Fiskars punches. I altered the orignal paper a little by adding a brown acorn stamp and although you really cannot see it, I also stamped some gold leaves on the paper. The Gold ink used is from Stampabilites and the brown ink is Stampin Up Chocloate Chip. The Blessed embossed sentiment was created by embossing a metal plate made by Pressed Petals. The package came with 3 metal tags..Love, Cherish, and Blessed. I put the Blessed tag through the Cuttlebug and then used a brayer to roll the gold ink over the embossing. I didn't want the "look" to be perfect as the background of the paper is actually crackled so I was pleased with the way it turned out. Thanks so much for visiting me today!

Celebrate

Hello again! Well we are back home again after our two week vacation. It is nice to go but always nice to come home again too. And we were wonderfully surprised by our son and daughter in law...they brought dinner to us last night! And of course we got to see two of our beautiful grandchildren...what a nice homecoming! I plan to try my hand at some cards using some of my pics from vacation in the near future but for today, I have a card that I created for a "celebration". The inspiration for this card was from Friendship & Sunshine card in Paper Creations Summer 2009 Magazine. The card base was created from Stampin' Up paper...the white paper again is my favorite embossing paper...Beckett. The brushed silver paper is from American Crafts Christmas Foil pack that I purchased from Hobby Lobby. The sentiment stamp is from Stampin' Up. The embossing at the bottom of the card is the Cuttlebug Two Frills embossing folder. To add a little "bling" to the card I used Stickles. The lace edge was created using the Martha Stewart Lace Edge punch.

Thinking of You

Hello! Sorry for the brief absence. We had a lot going on this weekend. Got to spend time with my grandchildren and celebrated my oldest son's birthday. Also, with the help of our neighbor, we got one side of our new fence put in. Our backyard is enclosed with this old rusty wire fence and we are just now getting to redo that fence. We are installing white vinyl picket and it is so darn nice. We will try to finish it next spring...but at least we got it started.

Today's card is a simple one...and was created with the same cuttlebug folder that I had used on my son's birthday card posted last week. The card base was SU paper. I have taken the advice of SusieB (Sue Nelson) from http://www.heartprints.net/ and purchased the Beckett Expression 80 lb paper in the colors of Radiance or Iceberg for my cuttlebug embossing. I was able to purchase the paper from http://www.marcopaper.com/. The results are stunning. Be sure to visit SusieB if you want to be inspired...she is awesome. Winter Wonderland

Hello All! Hope your weekend was a great one! Today's card is a Christmas card. It's not too early to start thinking about those cards...I made a promise to myself last year that I would not be scrambling at the last minute to do Christmas cards...so guess I better get on the stick. I have been getting a lot of good ideas from the following web site: http://cricutchristmas.blogspot.com/. Take a walk through their site if you already haven't. Quite a talented group of girls with some wonderful ideas. The base for the card above was Bazzill paper. The stamped image was a SU up stamp heat embossed with silver embossing powder. On the fold of the card, I glued a strip of paper embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflakes folder and embellished with some siilver embellies from Hobby Lobby. The Winter Wonderland stamp came from a set of stamps purchased at Joanne Fabrics. Hope you enjoyed today's card and come back to see me regularly!

Happy Birthday

Happy Wednesday! Today was a rainy stormy day again after work so I used the weather as an excuse to create a new card...well actually I created two! This first card is for my oldest son whose birthday is next week...shhhhh...I don't think he even knows I have a blog yet so I don't think he will see it. I have a hard time designing masculine cards but this one didn't turn out too bad. Unlike the last couple of cards, there is no cricut used on this card, but I did use my other favorite bug...the Cuttlebug. I just love embossing. I brayered the embossing folder with SU Chocolate Chip ink and ran the paper through my bug...I really love how it turned out. I then created a couple of layers to mat my card front using Coredinations card stock. The sentiment was stamped with a stamp from Joann Fabrics. I used my Spellbinders Double Ended Tag Shapeabilities to create a neat tag and added a couple of brown brads. Hope you had a wonderful day...come back to see me soon.
