Pics from Today

Just a few pictures from today...we had a wonderfully peaceful day today. The first picture is the sunrise this morning...absolutely awesome. We went to a park to view the oldest tree in the US...this tree is believed to be over 1,000 years old. It is an oak tree and it is HUGE. The girth of the trunk alone is said to be over 35 feet. We didn't stay too long cause the mosquitos were horrible. After lunch we spent most of the afternoon relaxing in the gezebo right by the water. The other pic here is just a shot of our balcony. :) Tomorrow we have a full day planned. We are off to see a historic museum in the morn and then we will travel south for a dolphin tour farther out into the gulf. Part of the tour will include viewing migratory birds as well as a 102 year old lighthouse. Hope to get lots of pics to show you. Well we are off to get a bite to eat and settle down on the balcony for a peaceful night. Take care and again, thanks tons for coming to see me!

Another Birthday Card

Well it seems like I am stuck on Birthday cards! But here is another one anyway! This card's base was the paper I love so much (Beckett). The outside edges of the card base were scored with the Scor Pal. The blue paper is from Coredinations and it was embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder and sanded. I so love this paper too! I then used one of my Martha Stewart punches (Lattice I believe it was called) to edge out the blue card stock. The heart was again cut out using the Beckett paper and embossed with the Birds and Swirls Cuttlebug folder. I used the Scalloped Hearts Nestabilities to cut the heart. I used a watercolor marker that I had in my stash to lightly shade the embossed area of the heart...the ribbon was from my stash too. Thanks for stopping by to visit and I hope your day was as beautiful as mine was! Thanks for stopping by to visit me!

Gulf of Mexico!

We are at our final destination on our 2 week vacation. We are in Rockport, Texas tonight and we will stay here until Friday afternoon. :) Oh my gosh I can't even begin to tell you how awestruck I am! This is my very first time in my whole life to be anywhere close to a huge body of water! I have had the camera going of course! Our room has a private balcony off the bedroom and the shots here are mostly from our balcony. Tomorrow, I plan on watching the sunrise...I can't wait. Sorry I have no card for today but I hope you enjoy seeing this part of the country through my eyes! Take care and have a good night. Thanks tons for stopping by to visit me! I do appreciate everyone's gracious comments and support.

Happy Birthday

Hello all! Have been so busy the last few days here in Texas. We are visiting relatives day in and out and eating like there is no tomorrow! This area of Texas has not had any substantial rainfall for 385 days...but since we arrived on Tuesday of this week, they have been blessed with rainfall daily! It has not spoiled much for us though cause typically it will rain and the sun comes out soon after. We will stay here until next Tuesday and then we are off to spend some alone time at the Gulf of Mexico. :):)
Today's card is another simple card. This card is 5x7...the embossing is the Divine Swirls cuttlebug folder. I also scored under the embossed area with the Scor Pal. The silver ribbon and apricot flower were from my stash. The silver foil paper was from a paper pack I had purchased from Hobby Lobby in the Christmas section. Hope everyone had a wonderful week and enjoy the upcoming weekend! I will be back later this weekend with another card. Thanks for visiting me and please come again! Take care.

Simple "HI"

Hello from Palestine, Texas tonight! We made very good time today and are in for the night. Hope to arrive at our destination around 4 PM tomorrow. Driving today was a little stressful...got lost once but it wasn't a real bad lost...we only had to back track to two exits. Tomorrow is another day!
I promised a card and tonight's card is a very simple card. I used a cuttlebug card making combo set called Everyday Greetings for both the card front and the sentiment. Added a little Crystal Stickles and a ribbon to finish off the card. The card base was again the Beckett paper I mentioned in a previous post that I love so much. It just creates phenomenal embossing. Well, hope you enjoyed your visit today and hope to see you back soon. Thanks for taking the time to come see me! Till later.

Ramblings!

Hello, and thanks for stopping by! I don't have a card for tonight, hope to have one for tomorrow night though. I am actually on a two week vacation with my husband. We are on our way to see his family in Texas that he has not seen for 21 years! We will stay in Southern Texas for a week and then we are going to the Gulf of Mexico for about 4 days prior to heading back home. I am so darn excited about seeing the Gulf. Tonight we are staying in a Comfort Inn in Hayti, Mo and will drive as far as Tyler, Texas tomorrow. I love seeing the countryside and don't mind driving at all. I will miss all my grandchildren...not seeing them for 2 weeks is going to really be hard for us...but, I have brought lots of pics of them with us...Thanks tons for supporting me and stopping by! I promise to put up a card tomorrow night. :) Please come back to see me then!

HUGS!
